Renowned music composer Devi Sri Prasad, affectionately known as DSP, has showered praise on the talented Rashmika Mandanna for her compelling performance in The Girlfriend. DSP, who has delivered chart-topping soundtracks for hits like Pushpa 2: The Rule and Kuberaa, declared that Rashmika “deserves a national award” for her role in the film.
On social media, DSP showcased a poster of the film and expressed, “#TheGirlfriend — A cinematic experience that truly moved me! Wow! Rashmikaa… you are not merely a ‘national crush’ — you absolutely deserve a ‘national award’ for your performance in this film.”
Continuing to express his admiration, DSP highlighted Rashmika’s talent for capturing innocence authentically. “Having dazzled us in versatile roles in movies like Pushpa and Animal, how do you effortlessly bring back that innocence? It’s evident that you truly lived this role. The depth conveyed through each expression is astonishing,” he noted.
DSP also recognized the film’s director, Rahul Ravindran, for expertly managing a sensitive storyline. He remarked, “This film is a must-watch for every person! Rahul sir, how did you achieve such brilliance in handling such a delicate subject? Kudos to you and the production team for delivering this touching narrative!”
He further lauded Dheekshith Shetty, the male lead, for his impactful performance, as well as Anu Emmanuel for her understated maturity in the film.
