Deepika Padukone in Talks to Star Opposite Vicky Kaushal in Mahavatar

Deepika Padukone was recently spotted outside Maddock Films’ office, sparking speculation about her next project. While fans initially thought she might join a horror-comedy, new reports suggest a different path.

The actress is reportedly being considered for the female lead in Maddock Films’ upcoming mythological drama Mahavatar, starring Vicky Kaushal. The film, announced last year, is based on the legendary warrior Parashuram.

A source revealed, “The team is looking for someone who can bring gravitas and emotional depth opposite Parashuram. Deepika fits this perfectly. Talks have begun, but they are still at an early stage. She is among the top names being considered.”

Director Amar Kaushik highlighted the significance of the female lead, stating, “From the beginning, we wanted the character to have equal footing in the story.”

If confirmed, this project will mark the first collaboration between Deepika Padukone and Vicky Kaushal. The makers are yet to officially announce her involvement.

Kaushik also shared insights into Vicky’s casting, saying, “Vicky has worked as an assistant director and assisted Anurag Kashyap. I’ve always wanted to work with him. When the idea for Mahavatar came, I realized he perfectly embodies the purity, intensity, and depth needed for this role.”
