The Karthikeya 2 star took to Instagram to recount her ordeal, declaring that she has lodged an official complaint and intends to pursue legal measures against the individual responsible.
In an emotional post on Instagram, Anupama expressed the depth of the cyberbullying she faced.
An Instagram account was disseminating highly inappropriate and inaccurate content about me, my family, and even tagging my friends and fellow actors. The posts featured altered images and unfounded accusations — it was incredibly distressing to witness such blatant online harassment,” she wrote.
The actor went on to disclose that this individual had crafted several fake accounts to amplify the spread of harmful material and aggressive comments on her posts. This relentless barrage of online abuse led her to seek assistance from Kerala's Cyber Crime Police.

Anupama noted that the investigation into the fake accounts traced back to a 20-year-old girl from Tamil Nadu. While she confirmed that legal action is in progress, she chose not to reveal the identity of the individual due to her age.
She emphasized that this issue transcends personal defamation and highlights a broader concern regarding irresponsible social media behavior. Using her platform, she warned others about the severe repercussions of such actions.
“Having a smartphone or access to social media does not entitle anyone to harass, defame, or spread animosity towards others. Every online action leaves its mark, and there will be accountability,” she cautioned.
