Director Amar Kaushik has shed light on the rising speculation about Alia Bhatt potentially joining the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU) for its upcoming film, Chamunda.
When queried about Alia's role in Chamunda, Amar stated,
“Everything will reveal itself in time. I’m neither confirming nor denying anything right now. Our priority is crafting the narrative, and casting follows later. We don't draft scripts based on actors.”
The filmmaker highlighted that the focus at MHCU centers on storytelling rather than star power: “Fortunately, we steer clear of that here,” he stated.
MHCU Aiming to “Elevate the Experience” for Fans
Kaushik reassured fans that the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe continues to grow with each film.
“Viewers can look forward to rising standards with our forthcoming releases. We craft these for the fans and everyone involved. If we falter, do let us know on Instagram or wherever you prefer,” he remarked.
He also emphasized the team's commitment to maintaining integrity:
“We strive for authenticity, just as we did with Stree. Our hope is to deliver what audiences truly desire.”
About the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU)
The MHCU was launched with Amar Kaushik’s 2018 hit Stree, featuring stars like Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor. The franchise has broadened with films such as Bhediya, Munjya, Stree 2, and the latest release, Thamma.
The newest addition, Thamma, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Co-produced by Amar Kaushik and Dinesh Vijan, the MHCU is set to grow with upcoming projects like Shakti Shalini, featuring Aneet Padda, and Bhediya 2 with Varun Dhawan.
Upcoming Ventures for Alia Bhatt
In the meantime, Alia Bhatt is immersed in a series of exciting film projects. She will appear in YRF’s spy thriller Alpha, helmed by Shiv Rawail, alongside Sharvari Wagh. In this film, Alia plays a leader in an elite all-women combat unit, scheduled to hit theaters on December 25.
Additionally, she will star in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s grand romantic drama Love & War, opposite Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal, reuniting Bhatt and Kapoor on screen following Brahmastra.
