Aldar and Mubadala Secure The Link at Masdar City for AED 654 Million

In a significant move for Abu Dhabi's real estate landscape, Aldar Properties and Mubadala Investment Company have successfully acquired The Link at Masdar City. This joint venture, established in 2024, sees a transaction worth AED 654 million, enhancing their collection of premium, revenue-generating assets.

This acquisition underscores the increasing investment traction within Abu Dhabi's real estate and innovation sectors, driven by robust institutional interest and confidence in the emirate’s sustained economic prosperity.

The Link encompasses about 32,000 square meters of net leasable area distributed over five structures. This property is entirely leased to major global organizations intent on future advancements, such as Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) and Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence.

With Grade A LEED Platinum-certified office spaces, a net-zero energy headquarters, a multi-purpose hall, and residential components, The Link is a vital addition to Masdar City’s holistic and sustainable framework.

Dr. Bakheet Al Katheeri, CEO of Mubadala’s UAE Investments Platform, stated that this acquisition reflects a profound trust in Abu Dhabi’s potential and its innovation-centric economy. He emphasized that this investment is aligned with Mubadala’s vision to bolster sustainable infrastructure while achieving commendable financial results and aiding the UAE's Net Zero ambitions.

Talal Al Dhiyebi, Group CEO of Aldar, highlighted that the acquisition not only enriches Aldar's investment landscape but also solidifies their collaboration with Mubadala. He pointed out that this asset boosts their foothold in a globally acknowledged center concentrating on clean energy, cutting-edge technology, and research.

Ahmed Baghoum, CEO of Masdar City, remarked on The Link being a pivotal development for the city. He noted its role in merging sustainability with economic advancement and future sectors, further establishing Abu Dhabi as a distinguished global innovation center.
