The Ajman Transport Authority has announced a notable 5.6% rise in taxi journeys for the first quarter of this year, underscoring a consistent increase in demand for public transport services across the emirate.
Official records indicate that the total number of taxi rides stood at 3,322,268, compared to 3,146,769 trips in the same timeframe last year, marking an additional 175,499 journeys.
Engineer Sami Ali Al Jallaf, the Executive Director of the Public Transport and Licensing Corporation, remarked that this growth showcases the increasing dependence on taxis by both locals and tourists. He stressed that the sector prioritizes high safety standards, operational competence, and service excellence.
Al Jallaf also pointed out that Ajman’s taxi fleet includes modern vehicles that comply with stringent safety regulations, guaranteeing a secure and pleasant travel experience for all passengers.
He emphasized the taxi sector’s crucial role in the emirate's transport infrastructure, providing versatile and efficient mobility solutions for everyday travel.
The Authority is committed to further enhancing services through fleet upgrades and the implementation of modern technologies aimed at improving traffic flow and fostering a better living environment for Ajman residents.
