Abhishek Bajaj Addresses Controversy Over 'Grandmother' Comment

Following his eviction from Bigg Boss 19, TV star Abhishek Bajaj has clarified the debate surrounding his remarks about co-contestant Kunickaa Sadanand. He openly discussed their frequent disagreements, which often revolved around kitchen responsibilities, and addressed claims that he age-shamed her by referring to her as a “grandmother.”

In a heartfelt dialogue, Abhishek denied any intention to disrespect Kunickaa, emphasizing that his conduct was grounded in respect, despite their conflicts. “She shouldn’t have made remarks about my mother. She crossed boundaries and invoked age and gender divisions. I was raised to honor my elders, and I treated her accordingly. We were all in competition, and my interactions aimed to uphold that respect,” Bajaj remarked.

His eviction occurred after a twist introduced by contestant Pranit More, who had the power to save one contestant. Pranit chose Ashnoor Kaur, leading to the exit of both Abhishek Bajaj and Neelam Giri.

Regarding his use of the term “grandmother,” Abhishek clarified that he did not view it as an insult. He voiced frustration over Kunickaa’s comments about him and Ashnoor Kaur and described her game strategy as “the dirtiest,” contrasting with contestants like Farrhana Bhatt, who he found to be more honest in their confrontations.

The situation gained traction after Abhishek was seen singing “Dadi Amma Dadi Amma Maan Jao” during a tense moment with Kunickaa. Host Salman Khan addressed the incident during the Weekend Ka Vaar episode, stressing that making jabs at the elderly is inappropriate.

Currently, Bigg Boss 19 is in its 11th week with the tension intensifying among contestants as they gear up for the upcoming finale in about a month. The ongoing competitors include Gaurav Khanna, Amaal Malik, Pranit More, Shehbaaz Badesha, Farrhana Bhatt, Tanya Mittal, Ashnoor Kaur, Mridul Tiwari, Malti Chahar, and Kunickaa Sadanand.
