After extensive training involving hours in simulators, classrooms, and flying, 77 cadets celebrated a pivotal achievement during their graduation ceremony at the Emirates Flight Training Academy in Dubai.
This event showcased the Academy’s increasing importance in cultivating future pilots not just for Emirates, but for the broader aviation industry. The latest graduates push EFTA's total alumni count past 300, with many now actively piloting or pursuing advanced training on Emirates’ long-haul aircraft.
Dignitaries from the Emirates Group were present, along with the graduates' family members, friends, faculty, and fellow students. The gathering underscored the airline's commitment to high-quality, structured pilot training, especially as the global aviation sector continues to experience heightened demand for qualified flight crews.
Among the 77 graduates, 52 were part of the UAE National Pilot Cadet Programme, while the other 25 hailed from 15 different nations. This initiative stands as the UAE’s primary program for cultivating Emirati aviators, offering comprehensive sponsorship and a clear trajectory from training to the cockpit.
EFTA employs a holistic training approach that merges academic instruction, advanced flight tech, and leadership training. Cadets transition from theoretical studies to practical flying, maintaining close ties with Emirates’ flight training division to ensure alignment with the airline’s operational standards.
Five cadets were commended for exceptional performance, with one cadet awarded for outstanding diligence throughout their training.
Located in Dubai South, the Academy features a dedicated residential campus that encourages focused training. Cadets reside in private studio apartments and benefit from sports and recreational amenities, allowing them to fully engage with their rigorous schedules without the hassle of commuting.
Covering an area akin to 200 football fields, the EFTA campus boasts modern classrooms, full-motion flight simulators, a specialized air traffic control tower, and its own runway. Training programs utilize cutting-edge software developed in collaboration with Boeing, complemented by a fleet of 32 modern training aircraft.
Since its inception in 2017, the Emirates Flight Training Academy has been instrumental in maintaining a continuous supply of proficient pilots, further solidifying Dubai’s reputation as a world-leading aviation center and supporting the strategic growth aspirations of Emirates Airline.
