Miral has announced that Warner Bros. World Yas Island Abu Dhabi has accomplished a remarkable feat by winning the esteemed 2026 Liseberg Applause Award, marking it as the first theme park in the Middle East to earn such international acclaim.
This award stands as one of the oldest and most distinguished accolades in the global attractions sector, honoring outstanding achievements in theme park management, operations, creativity, and guest relations.
The accolade was presented during the IAAPA Honors gala held in Xcaret, Mexico, with Hind Galadari, General Manager of Warner Bros. World, alongside Daniel Wills, Executive Director of Projects Delivery at Miral, graciously accepting it on behalf of their dedicated team.
Dr. Mohammad Abdalla Al Zaabi, Group CEO of Miral, remarked that this honour signifies the hard work, creativity, and commitment of all those connected to Warner Bros. World. He emphasized that such recognition bolsters Miral’s vision to enhance Yas Island as a premier global leisure and entertainment hub, while also aligning with Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Strategy 2030.
Since its inception in 1980, a mere 22 theme parks worldwide have been bestowed with the Applause Award, with a single park being chosen for each cycle. Former recipients include renowned venues such as Universal Studios Japan, Tokyo DisneySea, and Xcaret Park.
In partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences, Warner Bros. World Yas Island holds the title of the largest indoor theme park in the region. The park comprises six immersive themed lands, state-of-the-art rides, live entertainment, and experiences suitable for families.
Plans are also underway for a significant expansion, introducing a highly anticipated Harry Potter-themed area alongside two new DC-themed rides, which will further elevate the entertainment experience for visitors globally.
This latest accolade underscores Miral’s ongoing commitment to positioning Yas Island and Abu Dhabi among the premier tourism and entertainment destinations worldwide.
