The draft sets forth two potential paths for the issuance and oversight of architectural practice certificates. One maintains the current provincial authority system, while the alternative proposes a shared responsibility model involving provincial agencies and professional organizations.
Additionally, a significant initiative is aimed at enhancing the management of data concerning architects and their firms. The government anticipates creating a centralized database that encompasses all licensed professionals within the industry.
This database is intended for integration with a national information system, ensuring increased monitoring and transparency. Each architect will receive a unique identifier to facilitate tracking of their professional credentials and activities.
