Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has stressed that ensuring cybersecurity is an immediate and critical responsibility for Vietnam. He underscored its significance in defending national security, fostering socio-economic progress, and creating a secure digital landscape for the populace.
The Prime Minister observed that swift technological advancements and digital transitions present both chances and threats. Increasing cyber risks such as data breaches, online scams, misinformation, and cyberattacks are becoming prevalent, which could jeopardize national security and public safety.
Chinh noted that Vietnam has made notable strides in bolstering its cybersecurity frameworks, enhancing legal protocols, and fostering international partnerships. Nevertheless, challenges persist, including a lack of skilled workforce, inadequate resources, and the evolving tactics of cybercriminals.
Looking forward, the government aspires to fortify its cybersecurity architecture, boost public awareness, improve inter-agency collaboration, and invest in both technology and human talent. The emphasis will be on proactive prevention, data protection, and the establishment of a secure digital future for the nation.
