Organized by various friendship organizations with support from the Guangxi regional government, the festival aims to enhance connections among the people. This initiative illustrates a commitment to fostering a sturdy social foundation that will underpin long-term collaboration and shared growth between Vietnam and China as they move into the 21st century.
During the opening ceremony, Chinese leader Tran Cuong emphasized the longstanding friendship linking the two nations, highlighting how border communities have historically coexisted peacefully while supporting one another. He remarked on Guangxi's pivotal position as the sole region in China bordering Vietnam by both land and sea, which significantly contributes to sustaining and enriching this bilateral relationship.
In his speech, President To Lam reflected on Guangxi's historical importance, noting it as a site of shared revolutionary memories. He mentioned key historical locations associated with Ho Chi Minh, which symbolize the solidarity and sacrifices that underscore the Vietnam-China partnership.
To Lam expressed profound gratitude to China for its efforts in preserving sites that are significant to Vietnam’s revolutionary history. He articulated that since establishing diplomatic ties in 1950, the bilateral relationship has evolved into a comprehensive strategic partnership rooted in friendship, stability, and future-oriented cooperation.
Emphasizing the critical role of youths and border communities in furthering bilateral ties, To Lam advocated for an increase in cultural, educational exchanges, and innovation-powered growth through science and technology. He urged both nations to transcend conventional cooperation methods to unlock new possibilities in smart infrastructure and cultural sectors.
The festival concluded with a heartfelt commitment from both nations to forge a "community with a shared future." Leaders expressed optimism that continued collaboration, founded on historical bonds and enhanced through new initiatives, will usher in peace, stability, and sustainable growth in the region.
