Trump Says US Rescues Airman as Iran Tensions Rise

The United States has successfully rescued a seriously wounded crew member from a downed fighter jet inside Iran, according to former U.S. President Donald Trump. The rescue operation took place in a dangerous mountainous region where Iranian forces were actively searching for the pilot.

Trump shared the update on Truth Social, stating that the rescued officer was a highly respected Colonel who showed great bravery under difficult conditions. He described the mission as extremely risky, noting that such rescue operations are rarely attempted due to the threat to both personnel and equipment.

The incident follows the crash of a U.S. F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jet, which went down behind enemy lines. Trump also revealed that this was the second successful rescue operation linked to the crash. The first pilot had already been recovered earlier, but that mission was kept secret to ensure the success of the second rescue.

At the same time, tensions between the United States and Iran have continued to rise. In a separate statement, Trump warned that the U.S. could target Iran’s critical infrastructure, including power plants and bridges, if the situation escalates further. He also issued a strong warning regarding the Strait of Hormuz, a key global shipping route for oil and gas.

Iran responded with its own warnings, stating that any attack on its infrastructure would lead to serious consequences. Officials also threatened to target U.S. military-related facilities in the region if conflict intensifies.

The situation remains tense as both sides continue military actions and strong rhetoric. The Strait of Hormuz remains a major point of concern, as any disruption there could affect global energy supplies and increase instability in international markets.

Efforts by countries such as Pakistan, Turkey, and Egypt are ongoing to reduce tensions and push for diplomatic solutions, but no major breakthrough has been reported so far.

The rescue operation highlights both the risks faced by military personnel and the growing seriousness of the conflict, which continues to impact the wider region.
