His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum celebrated the recipients of the second annual Zero Bureaucracy Award at a special event in the UAE, attended by prominent leaders, ministers, and government officials.
Included in the audience were Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
During his address, Sheikh Mohammed commended government teams for embedding speedy services and streamlined processes into their work culture. He emphasized that the UAE government aims to establish a citizen-centric model that enhances public services while minimizing bureaucratic obstacles.
He unveiled the next phase of the Zero Bureaucracy Programme, titled “Zero Bureaucracy using Agentic AI,” focusing on leveraging cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies to establish a more intelligent, prompt, and effective government framework.
The award for Best Government Team in Zero Bureaucracy was presented to the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for its Maritime Transport Bundle project, which significantly improved service efficiency and streamlined processes across federal agencies.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was awarded in the Digital Bureaucracy category for its One Time Digital Certification initiative, while the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security earned acknowledgment for its Smart Customs System.
Emirates Post received an accolade in the Impact on Business Sector category for its National Logistics Network project, enhancing service capabilities and simplifying operational procedures for businesses.
In the Use of AI in Zero Bureaucracy category, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation was celebrated for its AI-based Employment Contract Verification System.
Two projects shared recognition in the Making Life Easier category: the Federal Electricity and Water Authority for its Instant Approvals for New Areas initiative, and the project aimed at recognizing Foreign Academic Qualifications.
The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment received the Community Engagement award for its Farmers and Fishermen Services project, which bolstered communication, transparency, and public involvement.
In the Government to Government Services category, awards went to the Ministry of Finance for its Smart Financial Governance Operations project and to the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security for its One-Time Data Request initiative.
Initiated in 2024, the Zero Bureaucracy Award seeks to honor federal government teams dedicated to reducing bureaucratic hurdles and providing prompt, effective public services.
The UAE Government introduced the Zero Bureaucracy Programme in November 2023 as part of its commitment to enhancing governmental efficiency, expediting services, and eliminating unnecessary processes for citizens and businesses.
