On Sunday, the UAE observed Commemoration Day with a heartfelt ceremony at Wahat Al Karama in Abu Dhabi, where His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, paid tribute to the nation's brave martyrs. H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes Affairs, joined in recognizing the fallen heroes.

Sheikh Hamad honored their sacrifice by laying a wreath and standing in silence to reflect on the bravery and loyalty of UAE martyrs who lost their lives defending the nation. As part of the tribute, he awarded the Martyr’s Medal to four families of fallen heroes, commending their enduring legacy.

The ceremony underscored the deep respect that the UAE has for its martyrs, with fighter jets performing a ceremonial aerial salute above Wahat Al Karama, forming the image of the Unknown Soldier in honor of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the country’s safety.

The event attracted a distinguished gathering of senior UAE leaders, including Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah; Lt General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; and several members of the Al Nahyan and Al Sharqi families.
