UAE Delegation Evaluates SSMC Care for Attack Victims

A collaborative delegation from the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE), AD Ports Group, and various governmental bodies, in conjunction with the Emergencies, Crises and Disasters Management Centre Abu Dhabi (ADCMC), performed a site visit to Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC).

This visit aimed to evaluate the conditions of those impacted by the recent Iranian assaults on Abu Dhabi, ensuring consistent monitoring of cases, and assessing synergy between concerned authorities.

Leading the delegation was His Excellency Dr Abdulla Humaid Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy, alongside Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, the Managing Director and Group CEO of AD Ports. The officials reviewed the protocols for managing cases from the initial response to continued patient care during their visit.

They looked into the comprehensive operational structure designed for quick intervention and resource distribution, in line with shifting needs. Additionally, the delegation evaluated the coordination channels between health, ambulance, and security services, highlighting contingency strategies to ensure uninterrupted services amidst changing situations.

Dr Abdulla Humaid Al Jarwan stressed that the prompt response and collaborative endeavors illustrate Abu Dhabi's solid institutional framework. He asserted that the healthcare system operates with foresight, ensuring service continuity and enhancing the emirate’s preparedness for future challenges.

He stated:
"In the UAE, we are a united community. Supporting injured individuals is both a national and humanitarian obligation. Today's initiatives showcase our leadership, advanced medical capabilities, and profound humanitarian values."

He also pointed out that the Unified Medical Operations Command Centre functions as a strategic nexus to allocate resources, coordinate initiatives among various entities, and ensure healthcare continuity even under challenging circumstances.

Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi reaffirmed that collaboration across government bodies signifies a modern approach to crisis management. AD Ports Group remains committed to bolstering national and local systems through logistic and operational strengths to enhance supply chain resilience and assure effective responses to evolving situations.

At the end of the visit, the delegation extended best wishes for a rapid recovery to all affected individuals and emphasized the significance of ongoing collaborative efforts. They also highlighted the necessity to adapt operational strategies, effectively integrate roles, and sustain a nimble, swift response to all circumstances.
