The State Security Agency of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has reported the successful disbandment of a terrorist group, leading to the detention of numerous individuals whose activities posed risks to national security and social stability.

As revealed by the Emirates News Agency (WAM), investigations uncovered connections between this faction and Iran's "Velayat-e Faqih" network. It has been determined that these individuals subscribed to extremist beliefs and were orchestrating planned terrorist and sabotage acts within the UAE.

Evidence illustrates that the group held covert meetings both domestically and internationally, collaborating with external agents to recruit participants and target key locations across the nation.

Furthermore, officials highlighted that the organisation sought to manipulate local youth, disseminating false ideologies and promoting allegiance to foreign factions. Their agenda was designed to provoke dissent against UAE’s domestic policies and international stance, ultimately striving to tarnish the nation’s reputation.

Additionally, this group was reportedly involved in illicit fundraising activities, channeling funds to dubious foreign entities.

Those arrested now face serious charges, including the establishment and leadership of a clandestine organisation, swearing loyalty to foreign powers, and undermining national solidarity and social equanimity.

The State Security Agency reiterated its determination to safeguard public security and uphold stability. It also called upon citizens and residents to report suspicious activities via official channels, aiding in national security measures.
