UAE Showcases Commitment to Hydrogen at Rotterdam Summit 2026

The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure of the UAE actively participated in the World Hydrogen Summit & Exhibition held in Rotterdam, serving as a critical global forum where policymakers, experts, and industry leaders converge to explore the future of hydrogen and sustainable energy systems.

Additionally, the UAE partook in the International Hydrogen Trade Forum during this event, which concentrated on global tactics to enhance hydrogen trade and fortify the connectivity of international supply chains.

According to the ministry, this participation underscores the UAE’s unwavering resolve to solidify its role as a premier hub for low-emission hydrogen, aligned with the country's National Hydrogen Strategy.

The strategy is designed to foster a comprehensive hydrogen ecosystem encompassing production, transportation, storage, and usage, further promoting the UAE’s ambitious objectives of achieving climate neutrality and ensuring energy security.

During the summit, the ministry underscored the vital role of international cooperation among governments, the private sector, financial entities, and technology providers. Such partnerships are deemed crucial for developing a sustainable global hydrogen market and facilitating the transition to cleaner, more resilient energy systems.

The ministry further emphasized the necessity for harmonizing international, regional, and local hydrogen standards. This alignment is pivotal to bolster market development and accelerate cross-border hydrogen trade, particularly within intricate global supply chains.

Moreover, the UAE highlighted its initiatives in supporting decarbonization across key sectors, including formulating guiding policies for sustainable aviation fuel, fostering innovation, and enhancing global partnerships aimed at transitioning to a low-emission economy.

The ministry reiterated that the UAE is steadfast in advocating an energy transition model characterized by diversification, innovation, and strategic alliances.
