In a vibrant celebration of culture, Turkmen students in China showcased their heritage at the 22nd International Youth Cultural Festival, which took place in Beijing on May 14, 2026. Hosted at Chengxin Square of the University of International Business and Economics, this year's theme was “Lead the Tide, Embrace the World,” inviting participation from youth across more than one hundred nations to honor cultural diversity and foster international friendship.
Supported by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in China, the students proudly represented their nation, reflecting Turkmenistan's dedication to cultural exchange, peace, and fostering ties through youth initiatives.
At the festival, a dedicated national pavilion for Turkmenistan drew considerable attention from guests, including diplomats and international students. This pavilion provided an insightful glimpse into Turkmenistan's identity, cultural achievements, and traditions.
The event's highlight was the cultural performances by Turkmen students, which captivated attendees with traditional dances that embodied the spirit and cooperation of Turkmen youth. Their vibrant presentations received enthusiastic applause from the international audience, further showcasing the nation's artistic heritage.
Guests at the Turkmen pavilion also enjoyed an array of traditional cuisine, offering insights into Turkmen hospitality and customs. The food presentations and cultural displays, organized by the students, illustrated Turkmenistan's commitment to intercultural dialogue.
In addition to the festival, Turkmen students engaged in a symposium titled “High-Quality Development of Higher Energy Education within the Belt and Road Initiative” at the China University of Petroleum, where they exchanged ideas on education, energy progress, and international collaboration.
Officials noted that Turkmen youth's involvement in such global events signifies the nation’s increasing role in reinforcing humanitarian and educational connections worldwide. The enthusiasm and dedication of the participants epitomized Turkmenistan's commitment to fostering mutual understanding and friendship across borders.
