Global Challenge for Students at Turkmen University

Post by : Shakul

The S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University is set to host a global scientific project competition titled “The Role of Youth in Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.” This initiative coincides with the observance of World Environment Day and the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence.

Students from both Turkmenistan and around the globe are invited to participate. The competition aims to provide a platform for these young innovators to showcase their ideas related to pressing global sustainability challenges.

The primary goal of this endeavor is to underscore the critical contributions that young researchers can make in the quest to meet the Sustainable Development Goals. Students are encouraged to present groundbreaking solutions and scientific proposals to tackle vital issues.

Participants can submit projects in six key focus areas: zero hunger, clean water and sanitation, affordable and clean energy, climate action, marine life, and terrestrial ecosystems. These themes resonate closely with global sustainability objectives.

The competition will unfold in two phases, accepting entries in Turkmen, English, and Russian. In the first phase, submissions must reach the organizing committee by May 10 via email.

All entries will undergo a thorough evaluation by a jury panel. The top submissions will be announced on the university’s official website on May 20, advancing to the final stage.

The culminating stage of the competition will take place from June 1 to June 5, where selected participants will present their projects online to a committee of experts.

Judging criteria will include relevance, innovation, clarity, feasibility, and overall quality of the projects. This ensures that impactful and well-prepared submissions gain recognition.

The competition intends to nurture promising youth, encourage knowledge sharing, and elevate awareness about environmental conservation and sustainable resource usage. It further aims to enhance international collaboration and motivate students to tackle global challenges collaboratively.
