Trump Says Xi Was Right About Biden’s Leadership

Post by : Sophia Matthew

U.S. President Donald Trump has sparked fresh political debate after publicly agreeing with comments made by Chinese President Xi Jinping about America’s condition under former President Joe Biden. Speaking during his visit to Beijing, Trump said Xi was “100% correct” in claiming that the United States experienced decline during Biden’s presidency. The remarks quickly gained international attention because of the sensitive relationship between Washington and Beijing and the strong political divisions inside the United States.

According to reports from the meeting, Xi Jinping told Trump that China observed a period of weakness and instability in the United States during Biden’s administration. Trump later repeated those comments while speaking to reporters and defended his agreement with the Chinese leader. Trump argued that the U.S. economy, border security, foreign policy, and global influence became weaker during Biden’s years in office. He also claimed that America lost international respect under the previous administration.

Trump said his administration is now working to restore America’s economic strength and global position. During his comments, he pointed to inflation, immigration challenges, rising national debt, and international conflicts as examples of problems that grew under Biden’s leadership. Trump also said foreign leaders openly discussed concerns about the direction of the United States during that period.

The comments came during Trump’s high-profile diplomatic visit to China, where he held several meetings with Xi Jinping and senior Chinese officials. Both leaders discussed trade relations, military tensions, technology competition, and international security issues. While the meetings focused mainly on diplomacy and economic cooperation, Trump’s remarks about Biden quickly became one of the most discussed political moments of the trip.

Critics of Trump strongly reacted to the statement, arguing that an American president should not publicly support criticism of the United States made by a foreign rival. Democratic leaders accused Trump of giving political importance to comments made by China’s government. Some analysts also warned that such statements could increase political tensions inside the U.S. and create controversy during an already sensitive election period.

Supporters of Trump defended his remarks, saying he was speaking honestly about economic and political challenges faced by the country over the past several years. Conservative commentators argued that Trump was highlighting issues many Americans already believed were affecting national stability and international reputation.

The White House has not released a detailed official clarification regarding Trump’s exact conversation with Xi Jinping, but officials confirmed that discussions between both leaders included topics related to economic performance, global influence, and future cooperation between the two countries

The controversy surrounding Trump’s statement comes at a time when U.S.-China relations remain highly sensitive. Trade disputes, Taiwan tensions, technology competition, and military activity in Asia continue to create pressure between the two countries. Even with these disagreements, both Trump and Xi recently announced plans for another major diplomatic meeting later this year at the White House, signaling continued communication between the two world powers.
