Tran Cam Tu, a key member of Vietnam's Politburo and Permanent Member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat, led a significant meeting with the Central Inspection Committee in Hanoi. This session focused on evaluating the inspection and supervision actions conducted in the first five months of 2026 and setting priorities for the upcoming months. Senior Party officials, representatives from central agencies, and members of the Central Inspection Committee participated.
The officials discussed progress in boosting Party discipline, enhancing supervision systems, and prepping for the 14th National Party Congress, as well as the elections for the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils for the term 2026–2031. The Central Inspection Committee highlighted its active role in crafting and executing new regulations that bolster the Party's inspection and disciplinary approach.
Notably, the committee reported strides in modernizing oversight systems and increasing inspection efficacy. Since the year's start, they have advised Party leaders on pivotal regulations and worked alongside law enforcement to fortify accountability measures. Digital platforms, such as the VNeID application, have also been leveraged to gather public feedback and identify signs of potential infractions.
The leadership commended the committee's firm strategy in rolling out inspection programs nationwide. Over twenty inspection and supervision teams were formed to directly scrutinize Party organizations under the Central Committee. Disciplinary actions have been taken against Party members breaching regulations, underscoring a firm commitment to organizational integrity.
During the session, Tran Cam Tu articulated the complexities facing Party-building and rectification efforts, stressing the need for enhanced proactive supervision. He underscored the importance of timely, decisive, and transparent inspection processes to ensure effective implementation of Party resolutions and directives across governmental levels.
The Party leader called for intensified attention on sensitive sectors prone to violations, including corruption, misuse of power, and conflicts of interest. He also noted the critical nature of adhering to newly instituted regulations regarding political and ideological matters while improving oversight in local administrations and significant investment projects.
Looking forward, the Central Inspection Committee was tasked with speeding up digital transformation, fostering collaboration with Party-building agencies, and enhancing information security. Special emphasis was placed on training grassroots inspection officials to ensure they are equipped with the necessary skills and integrity to meet the growing demands of Party supervision and governance reform in Vietnam.
