Prabhas’ latest horror-comedy, The Raja Saab, continues to captivate audiences at the box office, maintaining a strong performance despite a slight drop after its initial release. On Sunday, the film garnered ₹19.1 crore from all languages across India, raising its domestic earnings to ₹108.26 crore.
The movie debuted impressively worldwide, crossing the ₹150 crore mark during its opening weekend, and is now setting sights on achieving ₹200 crore globally by Makar Sankranti on January 14. Although Sunday’s earnings declined from Saturday's ₹26 crore, the film remains a favorite among moviegoers.
Directed by Maruthi Dasari, The Raja Saab centers around a young heir who delves into the mystery of his grandfather's disappearance and encounters a ghostly sorcerer in a haunted estate. The film features Prabhas alongside Boman Irani, Sanjay Dutt, Zarina Wahab, Malavika Mohanan, and Nidhhi Agerwal.
For Prabhas, being part of a ₹100 crore-plus opening weekend is not new. His previous projects, including Kalki 2898 AD and Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, also garnered massive takings. Kalki 2898 AD went on to earn over ₹543 crore domestically, while Salaar drew more than ₹200 crore in its opening weekend. Additionally, the much-debated Adipurush collected over ₹215 crore during its debut weekend.
Adding to the excitement, a sequel titled The Raja Saab 2: Circus 1935 has already been announced, with Maruthi Dasari slated to direct again, though the exact release date remains unconfirmed. Fans can hardly wait for the next thrilling chapter of this horror-comedy adventure.
