Post by : Mina Carter

After a long wait of four years, Manoj Bajpayee is back in the third season of The Family Man, which debuted on November 21. In this spy thriller, Manoj takes on the role of Srikant Tiwari, a middle-class intelligence officer who navigates national security crises alongside his chaotic family life.

This season, helmed by Raj and DK, begins with Srikant confronting an assassination attempt, pulling him into a complex geopolitical scenario involving insurgencies and secret missions. Priyamani returns as his wife, Suchitra, while the cast features Sharib Hashmi, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Ashlesha Thakur, Vedant Sinha, and Dalip Tahil. Newcomers Jaideep Ahlawat and Nimrat Kaur portray key antagonists.

Since its debut in 2019, The Family Man has transformed Indian OTT thrillers through its potent blend of action, humor, and family dynamics. This season places a stronger emphasis on action, a shift that has polarized the fan base.

Some fans have celebrated this latest season, with one viewer stating: “This season easily stands out as the most comprehensive and engaging yet.” Others enjoyed the return of familiar characters and the integration of new ones, commending their performances and surprising plot twists.

Conversely, some critiques highlighted the season's shortcomings. Criticisms pointed to weaker narratives and diminished focus on Srikant's familial interactions. Comments ranged from “This is the weakest season yet… at least the cast seems to be enjoying themselves” to “After finishing 4 episodes, I found this season largely dull!” Enthusiasts also expressed regret over the absence of the hallmark features that defined earlier seasons.

The overall verdict on The Family Man Season 3 remains mixed, with viewers torn between recognizing it as an action-packed adventure and deeming it a slightly disappointing sequel.
