Two people were killed and three others injured after a shooting near a shopping center in Carrollton, Texas, a suburb located north of Dallas, according to local police. Authorities said the incident happened Tuesday morning near the K Towne Plaza shopping center, an area known for its large Korean-American business community. Police confirmed that the shooting was not considered a random attack and that the suspect personally knew the victims.
Carrollton Police Chief Roberto Arredondo said officers responded to reports of gunfire shortly before 10 a.m. When police arrived at the scene, they found several victims suffering from gunshot wounds in the shopping plaza parking area. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while three others were transported to local hospitals for treatment. Authorities later discovered a second deceased victim at a nearby apartment complex connected to the same suspect.
Investigators identified the suspect as 69-year-old Seung Han Ho. Police said he fled the scene after the shooting but was later arrested following a short foot chase near a nearby H-Mart grocery store. According to officials, the suspect admitted involvement in the shootings during questioning.
Police believe the violence was linked to a business dispute involving people who knew each other professionally. Chief Arredondo explained that investigators are still working to fully understand the circumstances surrounding the meeting before the shooting began. Authorities stated there is currently no ongoing threat to the public.
Witness videos posted online showed a heavy police presence surrounding K Towne Plaza as officers searched nearby businesses and vehicles. FBI agents and additional federal law enforcement officials also assisted local authorities during the investigation. Several sections of the shopping center were temporarily closed while evidence was collected.
The shooting shocked members of Carrollton’s Korean-American community, which has grown significantly over the past two decades. Local residents described the area as normally peaceful and family-friendly, making the violence especially disturbing for business owners and shoppers in the neighborhood.
Authorities have not yet announced formal charges against the suspect as the investigation continues. Police said detectives are reviewing surveillance footage, interviewing witnesses, and examining the business relationship connected to the case. Officials also confirmed that all three surviving victims were reported to be in stable condition.
