Kelce Mistakes Hugh Grant’s Wife for Greta Gerwig at Swift’s Show

Taylor Swift has revealed a hilarious mix-up involving her fiancé, Travis Kelce, during one of her Eras Tour shows.

Appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Wednesday, Oct. 8, the 14-time Grammy winner recalled that Kelce accidentally confused actor Hugh Grant’s wife, Anna Eberstein, for filmmaker Greta Gerwig at a London concert in June 2024.

Grant, 65, attended Swift’s second Eras Tour date in the city with Eberstein. While mingling in the VIP tent, Kelce, 35, congratulated Eberstein on directing Barbie—even making an “I’m just Ken” joke while pointing at Swift. According to Swift, Eberstein looked understandably confused, but Kelce didn’t realize his mistake until after the show.

Later, Kelce enthusiastically told Swift he’d met “so many celebrities,” including Grant, but never mentioned Gerwig. When Swift asked why Gerwig hadn’t reacted to his joke, Kelce explained that “she” had been dancing closely with Grant all night and seemed like his soulmate.

“The tea is crazy tonight, Travis,” Swift recalled telling him after she pieced the story together.

Grant, for his part, later praised Swift’s performance on social media, calling her concert “incredible” and giving a playful shout-out to Kelce as an “excellent if gigantic boyfriend.” He also joked about enjoying some “#TequilaShots” during the show.

Swift responded the next day, declaring herself a long-time “Hugh Grant stan” and thanking him warmly.

The mix-up story comes just days after Swift released her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, on Oct. 3.
