Suspicious House Fire in Hay River Triggers RCMP Investigation

Post by : Raman

Hay River, Canada – A house fire in Hay River has led to a police investigation after officers declared the incident as “suspicious.” The fire broke out on Thursday afternoon at a home on Camsell Crescent. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) is now asking the public for help as they try to understand what caused the fire.

An RCMP officer who was on patrol in the area first noticed something was wrong when he smelled smoke. When he went to check, he saw the house on fire and quickly called the Hay River Fire Department.

Firefighters arrived on the scene soon after. Sadly, the house could not be saved and was completely destroyed. Police confirmed that no one was inside the home at the time of the fire, and no one was hurt.

The police have now called in the Office of the Fire Marshal to look deeper into the cause of the fire. Because the fire is considered suspicious, this means it may not have started by accident. It’s possible that someone may have started it on purpose, though police have not yet said what evidence led them to this concern.

In a statement released on Friday afternoon, the RCMP asked people living in the area to check their security cameras. They are especially interested in any video recordings taken between 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Police want to hear from anyone who lives on Camsell Crescent, Woodland Drive near Camsell Crescent, or the alleyway between Camsell Crescent and Gaetz Drive.

“If you have any footage or information about the fire, please share it with us,” the police said.

Anyone with helpful information is asked to contact the Hay River RCMP detachment at 867-874-1111. People can also give tips without giving their names by calling Crime Stoppers.

This fire has raised many concerns in the community. House fires are always serious, but when police believe one may have been started on purpose, it makes people feel unsafe. The RCMP and fire officials are working hard to find out what really happened.

The RCMP also thanked the Hay River Fire Department for their fast response and their efforts to stop the fire from spreading to nearby homes. Firefighters face many risks when they go into burning buildings, and their bravery helps protect people and property every day.

As the investigation continues, the police are depending on the public to help solve this case. Even small pieces of information or short clips from a security camera could help give answers.

This event reminds everyone how important it is to look out for each other and report anything strange they see. Communities become stronger and safer when people work together.
