The Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy has marked a significant achievement in 2025, facilitating the launch and growth of 1,690 digital startups. This represents a remarkable 39.7% increase from 2024, affirming the chamber's vital role in establishing Dubai as a premier global hub for digital innovation and entrepreneurship.
A noteworthy portion of the startups emerged from rapidly evolving tech sectors. Approximately 15% were focused on artificial intelligence (AI), while fintech startups accounted for 12%. Moreover, companies engaged in mobility tech, software-as-a-service (SaaS), and e-commerce together constituted 20% of the startup landscape. Significantly, 75% of these startups were global firms, underscoring Dubai's growing allure as an international digital business center.
Dubai Founders HQ: A Quantum Leap for Startups
In an effort to bolster the startup and SME environment, Dubai inaugurated Dubai Founders HQ in October 2024. This flagship initiative offers a unique blend of a physical innovation hub and a robust digital ecosystem, fostering collaboration among founders, investors, corporates, and ecosystem supporters. The goal is to foster innovation, accelerate business growth, and empower startups to scale globally from Dubai.
Commitment to a Thriving Digital Economy
The Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence and Chairman of the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy reiterated the leadership’s dedication to building a seamlessly integrated digital economy through advanced infrastructure, adaptive regulations, and a supportive business climate. The chamber is instrumental in helping digital firms expand globally by providing access to essential resources, regulations, talent, and markets.
Comprehensive Aid via the 'Business in Dubai' Platform
Through its 'Business in Dubai' platform, the chamber offers a suite of integrated services, from business matchmaking to partnerships with reputable service providers. In 2025, nearly 48% of supported startups received assistance in business setup and accelerator programs, while 31% availed of support services like market entry strategies and investor connections.
Create Apps Championship: A Catalyst for Smart Solutions
The Create Apps Championship, part of the Create Apps in Dubai initiative, successfully attracted global innovators, generating over 5,800 registrations and leading to the development of 55 smart applications in its initial editions. The third edition introduced a Participant Support Programme, aimed at fostering 50 additional fully developed applications with funding exceeding AED 2.5 million, alongside training and mentorship opportunities.
Expand North Star 2025: Setting New Global Standards
The 10th edition of Expand North Star 2025, organized by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, set a new record with over 2,000 startups and 1,200 investors managing assets over US$1.1 trillion. Alongside founders of 40 unicorn companies valued at US$900 billion, the event reaffirmed Dubai's pivotal role in the global digital entrepreneurship landscape.
Global Engagement and Thought Leadership Initiatives
In 2025, the chamber hosted 36 strategic ecosystem events and 17 international roadshows targeting critical global markets including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Singapore, the UK, the US, South Korea, and Vietnam. These engagements connected with over 2,500 startups and ecosystem partners, highlighting digital opportunities available in Dubai.
Additionally, the chamber released eight strategic insights, such as The Entrepreneur’s AI Playbook, aimed at enabling founders to optimize AI tools for their ventures and a report illustrating foreign direct investment prospects within the tech sector.
