Ahead of Eid Al Adha, the Community Development Authority (CDA) in Dubai has rolled out humanitarian initiatives that will support more than 11,700 residents. These programs align with the UAE's objectives for the “Year of Family”, aimed at uplifting family stability and enhancing social solidarity within the community.

Central to this effort is the “Eidiya” initiative, which has garnered backing from various government, private, and charitable organizations, totaling AED 27.7 million. This funding will provide financial support to families, minors, fishermen, and other vulnerable groups registered with the CDA.

Key collaborators in this initiative include the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, Union Coop, Dubai Land Department, Khalifa Juma Al Nabooda Group, Beit Al Khair Society, Dar Al Ber Society, and Tarahum Charity Foundation.

Her Excellency Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of CDA, remarked that these efforts embody the UAE’s principles of compassion and generosity. She emphasized the importance of community partnerships in enhancing quality of life and fostering social unity in Dubai.

Moreover, she noted that these initiatives support the Dubai Social Agenda 33, which aims to integrate society and bolster social protections for all community members.

The support program prioritizes families and individuals receiving financial assistance from the CDA, including minors and fishermen. Special prepaid support cards for fishermen were made available through collaboration with Union Coop, and a unique design session was held with fishermen to address their needs for sustained sector support.

Additionally, Beit Al Khair Society contributed AED 5 million through the “Jood” platform to expand the Community Development Fund, thereby enhancing support for families and vulnerable populations.

The CDA also teamed up with the UAE Food Bank, under Dubai Municipality, to distribute 250 fruit baskets during Eid Al Adha, which reached recipients' homes directly and assisted 65 participants from the “Waleef” initiative as well as 185 seniors at Al Barsha Majlis. This initiative promotes sustainable humanitarian efforts and aims to enhance access to community services for elderly residents and vulnerable individuals.

Overall, these initiatives highlight the CDA's dedication to family support, strengthening community ties, and promoting the values of generosity and social solidarity in Dubai.
