Abu Dhabi, UAE – The Advanced Military Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul Centre (AMMROC) has marked a significant milestone in defence collaboration by formalising three pivotal Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Egypt's Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI).

These agreements were signed at the UAE National Pavilion during the fourth edition of the International Defence Exhibition (EDEX 2025) in Cairo and are designed to enhance cooperative efforts in aircraft maintenance, engine support, and helicopter systems. This event was attended by Dr. Nasser Humaid Al Nuaimi, Secretary-General of Tawazun Council for Defence Enablement, along with Mahmood Alhay Alhameli, Group CEO of Abu Dhabi Aviation.

Advancing Aircraft MRO and Production

The collaboration between AMMROC and AOI's Aircraft Factory will focus on improving the production and supply of components for fixed-wing, jet, and unmanned aerial vehicles. The partnership aims to synchronise production processes with AMMROC initiatives, introduce special manufacturing cells, and ensure strict inspection and testing procedures. Knowledge transfer and training form a core part of this partnership.

Focus on Engine Support and Digital Integration

The second MoU with AOI’s Engine Factory and Digital Manufacturing Center targets advanced engine maintenance and supply chain optimisation. This agreement will facilitate the manufacturing of essential engine components, encompass heat and surface treatment processes, and enhance the operational lifespan of parts through precise engineering. Additionally, it utilises digital manufacturing techniques to improve production and quality standards.

Improving Helicopter Systems

AMMROC’s third MoU with Helwan Factory for Advanced Industries focuses on helicopter system maintenance and upgrades. This agreement includes servicing components, structural enhancements, and modernisation efforts, as well as establishing specialised workshops to bolster local defence capabilities. Joint training initiatives are also part of this strategic effort to elevate local expertise.

Showcasing Regional Strength at EDEX 2025

At EDEX 2025, AMMROC showcased its MRO capabilities, featuring models of F-16 and C-130 aircraft and engaging with partners to explore future collaboration opportunities. The MoUs exemplify AMMROC’s overall strategy to enhance fleet readiness, develop advanced industrial skills, and expand both regional and international alliances.
