At the EDEX 2025 defense exhibition held at the Egypt International Exhibition Center from December 1 to 4, the Advanced Military Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Centre (AMMROC) finalized three significant agreements with the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI) in Egypt. These accords aim to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the defense sector, focusing on aircraft support and technical capabilities.

The MoUs were formalized in the presence of high-ranking officials, including Dr. Nasser Humaid Al Nuaimi of the Tawazun Council for Defence Enablement and Mahmood Alhay Alhameli, CEO of Abu Dhabi Aviation. AMMROC's CEO, Jasem Al Marzooqi, along with Major General Engineer Mukhtar Abdel Latif from AOI, marked the signing event. These partnerships are intended to enhance collaboration on aircraft systems and support advanced maintenance for diverse defense platforms.

The inaugural MoU, established with AOI's Aircraft Factory, sets a definitive path for collaboration in the production and development of components, structures, and systems related to fixed-wing aircraft, jets, and unmanned aerial vehicles. This partnership further includes aligning production lines with AMMROC’s specifications, designating dedicated manufacturing areas, and elevating quality assurance methods.

In addition, the agreement prioritizes knowledge transfer and technical training efforts. Both parties intend to develop joint proposals that cater to the rising regional and global demand for aircraft components, showcasing their aspiration to enhance aviation capabilities.

The second MoU, crafted with the AOI Engine Factory and Digital Manufacturing Center, is geared towards augmenting collaboration in engine repair, overhaul, manufacturing, and component supply, encompassing various engine parts and refining treatment processes.

This agreement reinforces precision manufacturing and technical training while expanding factory operations to meet AMMROC’s needs concerning engine programs, leveraging digital manufacturing to bolster efficiency and long-term reliability.

The third MoU signed with Helwan Factory for Advanced Industries emphasizes improving helicopter maintenance and overhaul capabilities. This includes support in servicing helicopter systems, producing or modifying essential parts, and enhancing upgrade programs.

The partnership also entails establishing specialized workshops and production lines, developing composite materials, and conducting joint training initiatives. Both organizations are keen to explore additional collaborative avenues in regional markets to fortify helicopter support capabilities.

Dr. Nasser Al Nuaimi emphasized that these agreements underscore the UAE’s dedication to cultivating robust defense partnerships, particularly with Egypt, aimed at enhancing industrial capacities and reinforcing supply chains for future defense objectives.

Mahmood Alhay Alhameli recognized Egypt’s considerable industrial potential, asserting that these agreements will foster long-term regional cooperation. AMMROC's CEO, Jasem Al Marzooqi, reiterated that the MoUs exemplify AMMROC’s vision to escalate its regional presence and enhance operational readiness for military fleets.

Through these three MoUs, AMMROC reaffirms its commitment to forging partnerships, sharing expertise, and bolstering competence in the defense aviation domain. The company is also showcasing models of F-16 and C-130 aircraft at EDEX 2025, highlighting its advanced Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) capabilities.

These recent agreements signify a pivotal advancement in fortifying UAE and Egypt’s defense aviation relationship, while amplifying cooperation in aircraft production, engine support, and helicopter functionalities.
