Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol marked the 30th anniversary of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) with a special celebration in London’s Leicester Square. The stars unveiled a bronze statue capturing their iconic film poses, a moment that quickly went viral on social media.
Kajol shared the occasion with her children, son Yug and daughter Nysa. In a heartwarming scene, Shah Rukh stood holding his signature umbrella while Kajol called her children to join them. Nysa flashed bright smiles for the cameras, while Yug appeared a little shy. Fans on social media flooded the event with admiration, noting the striking resemblance between Yug and his father and praising the family moment.
Speaking at the event, Shah Rukh said, “DDLJ was made with a pure heart. We wanted to tell a story about love—how it can bridge barriers. That’s why the film continues to have a lasting impact after 30 years. Personally, it’s part of my identity, and it’s humbling to see the love it still receives.”
Kajol added, “It’s incredible to see DDLJ continue to receive so much love, even 30 years later. Watching the statue being unveiled felt like reliving a piece of our history—a story that has travelled across generations.”
Directed by Aditya Chopra, DDLJ was released in 1995 and has since become a timeless romantic classic, continuing to resonate with audiences across generations.
