Relatives, colleagues and admirers gathered in Juhu on Monday for a quiet, intimate prayer meet to honour the late actor Satish Shah. The assembly was marked by shared memories, soft music and heartfelt tributes celebrating his long career.
In a moving homage, singer Sonu Nigam performed Satish Shah’s favourite number, “Tere Mere Sapne” from Guide. The performance grew especially touching when Sonu softly encouraged Madhu, the actor’s wife who is reported to be living with Alzheimer’s, to hum along with him.
A video circulating from the gathering captures Sonu kneeling beside Madhu, taking her hand and inviting her to join the melody — a gentle exchange that left many in attendance visibly moved.
Actor Aanjjan Srivastav posted the clip on social media, noting that Sonu’s act transformed the memorial into a celebration of Satish’s life and underlined how music can bring people together and soothe the heart.
JD Majethia, the creator behind Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, also reflected on the moment, describing Sonu’s gesture as a "divine moment" that echoed Satish’s love for song.
