Soha Ali Khan Reflects on Lively Family Dinners and Childhood Memories

Post by : Mina Carter

Actor Soha Ali Khan recently offered a warm, intimate glimpse into the family meals that shaped her, sharing affectionate recollections about her late parents Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and Sharmila Tagore. Born into a household steeped in cinema and cricket, Soha is connected to many well-known figures, including Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu, Ibrahim Ali Khan, Amrita Singh, Sara Ali Khan and her mother Sharmila Tagore.

Evening Laughter at the Table

Soha described how gatherings often turn into lively evenings, with a few family members naturally drawing the most laughs. She singled out her husband, Kunal Kemmu, and sister-in-law, Kareena Kapoor, as the most entertaining presences at dinner.

"When actors are around the table, the conversation often loops back to our own lives, but there are always a couple of people who keep everyone in stitches. Kareena and Kunal do that for us — on their best nights they transform the whole atmosphere," she said.

She also traced this easy humour to shared influences: a mix of upbringing, time spent studying overseas and perhaps a genetic thread from their father, paired with the dry, self-deprecating wit that comes from living and learning in places like England.

Siblings and Early Paths

Soha painted a picture of differing paths within the family, reflecting on her own school years and her siblings' choices. She noted that Saif attended Winchester for his schooling and did not take the university route; after some time he gravitated toward film and ultimately settled in Mumbai. Soha said she focused on carving out her own identity and making her parents proud.

She described Saba as the more quietly creative sibling — trained at Delhi College of Art and the Gemological Institute of America for jewellery design, Saba prefers photography and behind-the-scenes work rather than performing in front of the camera.

Soha, the daughter of the late cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and actor Sharmila Tagore, married actor Kunal Kemmu on January 25, 2015. The couple have a daughter, Inaaya Naumi Kemmu, who was born on September 29, 2017.
