Al Wathba is set to host an extraordinary New Year’s Eve celebration, poised to be the largest in the UAE and the wider region, as the Sheikh Zayed Festival committee finalizes an exciting program. Attendees can look forward to a spectacular 62-minute fireworks display, the world’s most extensive drone performance, and a vibrant mix of cultural and heritage showcases featuring various participating countries, sponsors, and partners. The fireworks show aims to establish five Guinness World Records and will unfold in five stages, starting at 8 pm and culminating just before midnight, illuminating the Al Wathba skyline.
This year marks a groundbreaking drone performance with a total of 6,500 drones orchestrating nine enormous aerial formations, a first in the world. The entire show will be in perfect sync with the countdown and fireworks, offering an engaging visual spectacle. Support from official sponsors and partners will enhance the event with interactive cultural activities, technical lighting support, drone coordination, and artistic programs.
Festival-goers can immerse themselves in traditional Emirati performances like Al Ayala, Al Razfa, and Al Nadooba, featuring hundreds of performers alongside international acts showcasing music, parades, and cultural exhibitions. Family-friendly programs include entertaining kids’ shows at the dedicated Kids’ Theatre and activities in the newly opened Wonderland entertainment city, which debuted in December 2025.
The organizers are preparing for large crowds by expanding entry and exit access, widening pedestrian pathways, and enhancing safety and medical preparations. Field teams will be on hand to direct visitor traffic, and entry will conclude once capacities are reached to ensure safety for all.
