Sharjah SEC Endorses SAA Framework, Examines Vital Housing Initiatives

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), chaired a meeting on Tuesday alongside His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, who also serves as Vice Chairman, at the Sharjah Ruler’s Office.

Wheat Harvest & the Launch of “Mazraaty” Platform

The Council took a moment to congratulate His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, on the successful conclusion of the fourth wheat harvest season. Additionally, the Council commended the establishment of the “Mazraaty” platform, designed to uplift farmers and livestock breeders.

This initiative aims to enhance the quality of organic produce, bolster the national food security framework, and secure sustainability for the future.

Governmental Assessment & Development Strategies

The meeting provided an overview of government departments and their performance, as well as deliberations around development strategies in various sectors intended to advance citizens' quality of life.

These strategies are crafted to address community needs and elevate the operational efficiency of government services throughout the emirate.

Approval of the Sharjah Archaeology Authority Structure

The Council sanctioned the organizational framework and role allocations for the Sharjah Archaeology Authority (SAA). This approval is part of ongoing efforts to enhance institutional performance and bolster governmental efficacy.

The move is designed to cultivate robust national expertise within the archaeology field and support initiatives aimed at cultural heritage preservation. This reinforces Sharjah’s stature as a prominent cultural center both regionally and globally.

Reforms in the Judicial Sector

The Council ratified new fee structures for expert services within judicial bodies. This adjustment is targeted at refining professional practices, enhancing service quality, and fortifying transparency and equity across legal proceedings.

Housing Developments & Family Support

The Council evaluated a report concerning residential complexes and their significance in bolstering family stability. These projects aim to expedite housing delivery, minimize construction expenses, and ensure adherence to high-quality standards through consistent designs and oversight.

Such complexes also encompass complete infrastructure and services, thereby improving living conditions and mitigating housing construction delays.

Housing Data & Future Initiatives

The report indicated that there are 2,488 government housing units currently in development throughout Sharjah. Of these, 1,154 homes are finalized and have been delivered, while work is ongoing on 1,334 units.

The report further outlined the distribution of housing initiatives, key hurdles, and future suggestions aimed at enhancing the housing landscape to meet citizen expectations.
