Sharjah Establishes Design Council to Enhance Creative Industries

In an effort to bolster the creative scene, Sheikha Hoor bint Sultan Al Qasimi has announced the formation of the “Sharjah Design Council.” This initiative aims to enhance the design landscape in the emirate and promote the growth of creative industries.

This announcement aligns with the vision of the Sharjah Creative Quarter (SCQ), which is committed to drawing in global brands, innovative design, and creative talent to Sharjah.

As a key component of this initiative, SCQ will host the “Sharjah Design Days,” a dedicated platform designed to unite designers, creatives, and industry professionals worldwide. The initiative will contribute to the design ecosystem in Sharjah, amplifying its influence both regionally and internationally.

Per the council's declaration, the Sharjah Design Council will focus on crafting specialized programs and initiatives to foster a sustainable creative ambiance in the emirate. It also aspires to cement Sharjah's status as a pivotal center for regional design and cultural enterprises.

The council's mission includes forging partnerships across design sectors while offering support to both budding and established designers through educational and training opportunities. It aims to inspire innovation and creative endeavors across various design disciplines.
