Colombian music icon Shakira has introduced her latest track, “Dai Dai,” designated as the official anthem for the FIFA World Cup 2026.
In a vibrant performance shared from Brazil's renowned Maracanã Stadium, Shakira captivates the audience alongside dancers. The sneak peek features her singing, “Here in this place / You belong… What broke you once / Made you strong,” complemented by a male vocalist in harmony.
According to her social media announcement, the full version will debut on May 14. Joining her on the track is Afrobeats sensation Burna Boy, enhancing the global appeal of the anthem.
Kicking off on June 11, the FIFA World Cup 2026 will see Mexico take on South Africa at Mexico City's Azteca Stadium. The grand finale is set for July 19 at MetLife Stadium, located near New York City.
Shakira is already seasoned in World Cup music, having previously delivered the smash hit “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” during the 2010 tournament in South Africa.
The song “Dai Dai” is distinct from another official song sponsored by Coca-Cola for the event, which transforms Van Halen’s “Jump.” Featuring artists such as J Balvin, Travis Barker, Amber Mark, and Steve Vai, this rendition includes fresh Spanish lyrics from J Balvin, integrating Latin and Brazilian sounds for a worldwide football celebration.
With “Dai Dai,” Shakira re-enters the World Cup spotlight, showcasing her enduring connection with the most celebrated football tournament.
