Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Transferred to New Jersey Federal Prison

Hip-hop entrepreneur Sean “Diddy” Combs has been transferred to the Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution in New Jersey, where he will serve the remainder of his four-year federal prison sentence for prostitution-related charges.

According to an update in the Federal Bureau of Prisons database on Friday, Combs is now being held at the low-security facility located about 55 kilometers east of Philadelphia, within the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.

It is unclear when Combs was moved from the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where he had been jailed since his arrest in September last year. Neither his lawyers nor prison authorities have commented on the timing of the transfer.

Combs' legal team had previously requested the move, seeking access to the facility’s residential drug treatment program. Attorney Teny Geragos said the transfer would help Combs address substance abuse issues while providing improved access for family visitation.

The 55-year-old has already served 14 months of his 50-month sentence and is scheduled for release on May 8, 2028. Participation in drug rehabilitation and other programs could reduce his remaining sentence.

Separately, Combs is seeking a fast-tracked review of his conviction through the federal appeals court. His lawyers argue that a timely decision may lead to a reduced sentence if the conviction is overturned. Former President Donald Trump recently said Combs had requested a presidential pardon, though no action has been announced.

In July, Combs was convicted for transporting girlfriends and male sex workers across several states for drug-fueled sexual encounters, a pattern prosecutors said continued for years. He was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering charges that carried the potential for life imprisonment.

Before sentencing, Combs told the court that he had undergone a “spiritual reset” in jail and committed to living a drug-free, non-violent life.
