At a trailer launch event in Mumbai on Tuesday, Bollywood icon Ranveer Singh extolled his co-star Sara Arjun, who is stepping into Hindi cinema with Aditya Dhar’s film Dhurandhar. The 20-year-old, previously recognized for her roles in Tamil cinema, has won accolades for films like Deiva Thirumagal and Saivam.
During the event, Ranveer characterized Sara as a "child prodigy," comparing her to Hollywood star Dakota Fanning. He remarked, "Sara here is a prodigy; you just know some people are prodigies since childhood, much like Dakota Fanning in Hollywood. It’s impressive that you outshone thousands of candidates to secure this role. It feels like you have already starred in 50 films before this. You are truly among the finest actors I have worked with.”
He also acknowledged her previous performances, specifically in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan films, stating, "You enhance my performance; I am sincerely grateful for that. It’s hard to believe this is your debut film, especially since you have acted in Mani Ratnam's projects, and now the world will discover your talent."
Sara Arjun first garnered attention in 2011 as Vikram’s daughter in the Tamil film Deiva Thirumagal. She achieved further recognition for her role in the 2014 movie Saivam, produced by Vijay, and portrayed young Nandini in Mani Ratnam's epic films.
Dhurandhar is crafted, directed, and co-produced by Aditya Dhar alongside Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar under the Jio Studios and B62 Studios banners. The film features a stellar cast that includes Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi, with music by Shashwat Sachdev. The film is set to premiere in theaters on December 5.
As the film garners attention for its ensemble cast and engaging narrative, Sara Arjun’s Bollywood debut alongside top-tier actors is generating significant excitement, with fans eager to witness her performance on the big screen.
