RJ Barrett scored a game-high 27 points and Brandon Ingram added 26 as the Toronto Raptors defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 117-104 on Sunday at Scotiabank Arena. The win marks Toronto’s first home victory in three attempts this season, while also giving them back-to-back wins for the first time.
The Grizzlies, now 3-4, were without their leading scorer, Ja Morant, who was serving a one-game suspension imposed by the team. The suspension followed a heated post-game exchange between Morant and rookie head coach Tuomas Iisalo on Friday, during which Morant reportedly reacted dismissively to criticism about his leadership.
In Morant’s absence, Jaren Jackson Jr. led Memphis with 20 points and nine rebounds. Jock Landale and Vince Williams Jr. contributed 14 points each, while Santi Aldama added 15 from the bench.
The Raptors went into halftime up 53-47 and extended the lead to 84-71 at the end of the third quarter. Memphis mounted a fourth-quarter push, cutting the lead to six, but Toronto held firm to secure the win.
Four of Toronto’s starters scored in double digits. Beyond Barrett and Ingram's combined 53 points, Scottie Barnes delivered an all-around performance with 19 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists, and five blocks. Collin Murray-Boyles scored 15 points, and point guard Immanuel Quickley added nine.
