QFFD Emphasizes Youth Empowerment at the UN Youth Forum 2026

The Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) made a significant presence at the 2026 ECOSOC Youth Forum at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, highlighting Qatar’s dedication to youth empowerment and sustainable development.

With the theme “Innovate, Unite and Transform: Youth Shaping the Road to 2030,” the forum assembled young leaders, UN member states, and global partners to propel progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The discussion centered on the invaluable role of youth in fostering innovation and developing inclusive global policies.

QFFD’s engagement showcased Qatar’s leadership in promoting the Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) agenda. The organization stressed the necessity of involving young people as vital players in peacebuilding and long-term sustainable development efforts.

Additionally, QFFD was part of an Expert-to-Youth Dialogue during a side event called “From Doha to the World: Youth-led Partnerships to Advance the Youth, Peace and Security Agenda and Accelerate the SDGs.” This session, organized by Qatar’s Ministry of Sports and Youth, facilitated discussions between key stakeholders from governments and civil society focusing on SDGs 6, 7, 9, 11, and 17.

Ibrahim Abdulla Al-Baker, Global Advocacy Researcher representing QFFD, reiterated the organization’s commitment to promoting scalable and innovative solutions. He emphasized the potential of youth-led initiatives to enhance peacebuilding efforts and foster international cooperation.

This participation sets the stage for the forthcoming Arab Youth, Peace and Security Forum in Doha, scheduled for November 2026, further solidifying Qatar’s role as a hub for discussions on youth development and peace initiatives.

QFFD reaffirmed its dedication to fostering inclusive, youth-driven solutions that further the achievement of the SDGs, contributing to a more resilient, peaceful, and sustainable global future.
