The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change in Qatar, via its Monitoring and Inspection Department, has launched a focused training initiative in partnership with the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation.

This four-day online program was designed around the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standards, which are globally esteemed for laboratories involved in testing and calibration.

Participation included 22 personnel from the Ministry's technical divisions, specifically the Monitoring and Inspection Department alongside the Radiation Protection Department, plus a delegate from the office of the Assistant Undersecretary for Environmental Affairs.

The goal of this training was to enhance the auditing capabilities of environmental laboratories in alignment with international quality standards. Emphasis was placed on practical uses such as air quality assessment, radiation safety practices, and conducting thorough environmental inspections, ensuring precise and trustworthy testing outcomes.

This effort exemplifies the Ministry's dedication to fostering local talent, upgrading quality calibration frameworks, and supporting sustainable development objectives that resonate with Qatar National Vision 2030.
