Qatar Charity Steps Up to Address Water Shortage in Taiz, Yemen

Post by : Bianca Hayes

In a decisive move, Qatar Charity (QC) has launched an urgent water supply initiative aimed at alleviating the escalating water crisis in Taiz, Yemen.

This project is set to assist approximately 13,500 individuals residing in three key districts—Al Mudaffar, Salh, and Al Qahira. These regions are grappling with significant water scarcity due to extended drought conditions.

The initiative involves establishing 108 water distribution points, with 36 set up in each district. Its goal is to guarantee consistent access to clean drinking water for those affected.

Taiz is witnessing one of the most critical water crises in Yemen's history, particularly impacting higher elevations where water supply disruptions can last for months.

Many families in Taiz are struggling to secure safe drinking water daily, creating both financial strain and physical difficulties for already vulnerable communities.

With this project, Qatar Charity seeks to relieve the hardships faced by these residents and enhance their access to essential water supplies in the impacted districts.
