Vehicle Crash Near Selkirk Sends Patient to Winnipeg

A vehicle collision west of Selkirk, Manitoba, on Sunday morning led to at least one individual being airlifted to a hospital in Winnipeg.

Emergency air ambulance crews were dispatched to the scene near the intersection of Highway 8 and Highway 67 (Fort Garry Road) at approximately 10 a.m. One patient was transported to the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. Officials have not released information regarding the person’s condition.

Authorities have not provided additional details about the cause of the crash or whether other vehicles or individuals were involved.

The intersection, which had been temporarily closed due to the collision, was reopened by early afternoon. Motorists were advised to plan for potential delays while crews cleared the scene.

This incident highlights ongoing concerns about traffic safety in the region, particularly at intersections known for heavy vehicle movement. Local authorities continue to monitor the situation and have urged drivers to exercise caution when traveling through the area.
