Renowned actor Paresh Rawal has shared insights regarding his decision to decline a part in Drishyam 3, which features Ajay Devgn. Although he found the script remarkable, he felt that the specific character didn’t ignite his interest.
“The creators indeed approached me for the role. However, I didn't find it to be a fit for me. Maza nahin aaya (it didn’t excite me) when reading about my character. Nevertheless, the script is excellent and genuinely impressed me. Even with a strong script, you require a role that inspires you. Warna maza nahin aayega (otherwise it won't be enjoyable),” he expressed.
About the Drishyam Franchise
In Drishyam 3, Ajay Devgn will return to his role alongside Shriya Saran. Directed by Abhishek Pathak and produced by Kumar Mangat, this film follows the previous entries, Drishyam (2015) and Drishyam 2 (2022). The original 2015 crime thriller was a remake of the Malayalam film featuring Mohanlal from 2013.
The teaser for Drishyam 3 was supposed to debut this month but has seen delays. Reports indicate that an adaptation clause between the creators of the Malayalam series and the Hindi remake restricts any announcements without consent from the original team. Following the announcement of Mohanlal’s shoot, the Hindi team tentatively set a release date of October 2, 2026, which reportedly displeased the original Malayalam creators, Jeethu Joseph and Antony Perumbavoor, activating the restriction.
Paresh was recently featured in the horror-comedy Thamma, alongside Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik.
The actor has multiple projects lined up, including Hera Pheri 3, The Taj Story, Bhooth Bangla, and Welcome To The Jungle.
