In South Al Batinah, authorities have taken two suspects into custody on drug trafficking charges and possession during a surge in anti-narcotics efforts.
The arrests were executed by the Department of Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, operating under the South Al Batinah Police Command. Following intelligence gathering and subsequent surveillance, the two Asian nationals were apprehended.
During the operation, law enforcement encountered a significant cache of illegal substances, including marijuana, crystal methamphetamine, hashish, and psychotropic tablets, allegedly aimed for trafficking and personal use.
Officials noted that this seizure emphasizes their commitment to counter the menace of narcotics, safeguarding communities from the perils of drug misuse and illicit trade. The volume of confiscated drugs signifies an organized effort to distribute narcotics locally.
Legal procedures regarding the accused are underway in line with Oman’s legislation. Authorities assured that stringent measures will be enforced as per the narcotics and psychotropic substances regulatory framework.
In an unrelated incident, the South Al Sharqiyah Police Command detained another Asian national for holding a large supply of alcoholic beverages with intentions of illegal sale.
