Nawat Itsaragrisil Takes Legal Action Against Fatima Bosch

A new controversy has unfolded in the beauty pageant industry as Nawat Itsaragrisil, the president of Miss Grand International (MGI), has filed a legal complaint for defamation against Fatima Bosch, who is the Miss Universe 2025. The friction originated during a pre-pageant event in Thailand and has now turned into a significant legal battle.

Tensions first emerged on November 4 during a live broadcast hosted by Miss Universe Thailand. In this session, Nawat challenged Fatima regarding her alleged refusal to participate in a scheduled social media photoshoot, claiming she was instructed by Mexico's national pageant director. Fatima was quick to refute these accusations, igniting a public exchange that rapidly gained traction on social media.

As footage from the livestream circulated online, multiple news sources reported that Nawat insulted Fatima, referring to her as a “dumbhead.” However, MGI later clarified that his actual statement was “damage,” not an insult. They elaborated that the complete remark was: “If you follow the order from your national director you’re damage, if you not you can do it. I very happy and the good report will go to organise… ”

In a statement released via Miss Universe Thailand on December 3, MGI asserted that Fatima has been continuing to make erroneous claims during interviews, despite being notified about what they contend was the correct audio. They maintained that her continuous comments have tarnished Nawat’s reputation as she progressed in the pageant and eventually clinched the Miss Universe title.

Amid rising tensions, Nawat filed a criminal complaint against Fatima in Thailand on November 12, marking an unusual legal clash between two influential figures in the pageantry world. The case is currently advancing through the Thai legal system, with both parties steadfastly sticking to their narratives regarding the events that sparked this controversy.
