The UAE has finalized loading operations for the Mohammed Bin Rashid Humanitarian Ship, a significant relief effort aimed at delivering over 10 million meals to the people of the Gaza Strip. Today, the ship was completely loaded at Khalifa Port (KIZAD) in Abu Dhabi, carrying 7,249 tonnes of food supplies. The ship is set to depart shortly for El Arish Port in Egypt, with arrival anticipated in early January 2026 before the aid is transported into Gaza.

This initiative is part of a broader campaign launched by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) on 25 November to mitigate food shortages and assist civilians facing ongoing hardships.

Public Engagement is Key

The public's response to this campaign has been exceptionally positive. On 7 December, MBRGI organized a large event at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City, attracting massive participation and generating over 20,000 volunteer applications in just a week.

Volunteers contributed by assembling food baskets filled with 20 essential items, designed to sustain a family of five for one week. These baskets were tailored to address core nutritional needs, offering balanced ingredients suitable for individuals of all ages.

UAE Leadership Affirms Commitment

His Excellency Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Secretary General of MBRGI, emphasized that the ship symbolizes the UAE’s dedication to supporting Palestinian civilians during this critical humanitarian crisis.

He remarked that loading the ship marks a significant achievement made possible through robust public support and collaboration with Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, affirming the UAE's commitment to continued impactful humanitarian assistance and community upliftment initiatives.

Role of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3

Mohammed AlShareef, spokesperson for Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, underscored that the UAE is one of the leading providers of aid to Gaza, utilizing land, sea, and air routes to ensure continuous relief efforts.

He noted that ongoing initiatives aim to deliver food, medical supplies, and emergency essentials consistently, providing sustained support for families in Gaza.

MBRGI’s Global Mission

MBRGI, the largest foundation of its kind in the region, executed programmes worth more than AED 2.2 billion in 2024. These initiatives reached approximately 149 million people across 118 countries, focusing on humanitarian aid, healthcare, education, innovation, and community empowerment.

Founded in 2015, MBRGI unifies over 30 organizations under a single umbrella, allowing it to tackle global challenges and direct resources toward aiding vulnerable populations.
