A heartbreaking incident unfolded off Gambia’s coastline as a migrant vessel, carrying over 200 individuals, capsized, according to the latest announcement from the Defence Ministry this Friday. The distressing event occurred on Wednesday when the boat became stranded on a sandbank.
So far, rescue operations have successfully saved 96 migrants, but the bodies of seven victims have already been recovered. Among the survivors, 10 individuals are in serious condition and are currently receiving critical medical care.
